The rules above are the friendly core, enough for a full evening of play. When your table wants more, start with these favorites; even more expansions are waiting online. [POINTER 21]
- The richer bonus board. The old scoring tables extend the feats: the II Ultimo (second-to-last trick, the Uhu), III Ultimo (third-to-last, the Kakadu), IV Ultimo (fourth-to-last, the Quapil), the Double Trick (the Rostopschin, two consecutive tricks won with the VII and VIII), and the Valat, the clean sweep of every trick in the hand. The ladder and double-trick feats are worth +1, silent only: the announcement window never covered them. The Valat is the board’s crown, a whole-hand sweep against a live opponent; the native tables pay it at the very top of the scale; Simplified pays it +5. (Sourced from Furr and from Mayr & Sedlaczek; the full board lives at gotarok.com/26.)
- Traditional announcement timing. Beck’s rules announce a bonus mid-game, when its first card is played; our one-moment version is a house simplification. Traditionalists may prefer the original.
- The Traditional Scoring. This is traditional zero-sum scoring: the loser pays the winner. The values stay the same; only the arithmetic grows. The full tables are at the back of this book ([PAGE ch-11-traditional-scoring]).
