Round two, seven players. Nobody has claimed yet, and no duty binds you. Your hand: XVII, XIV, X, VII, K, K
.
Do you claim the Dapp, or pass?
Reveal answer
Answer
Pass. Check the duty first: the XVII is only a trump stop with five other Taroks beside it, and you hold three, so the choice is yours. You hold no trump stop, and you hold one Tarok from the XV up, the XVII, where the rebuild wants to land on about three, and the Dapp would have to deliver the other two. Do not count the Kings as tricks: with six opponents a lone King is almost always trumped the first time its suit is led, and Kings may never be discarded, so you cannot discard them to count in your pile either. Without a trump stop, pass.
