Which group do you take?

Reveal answer

Answer

Take Group A. If you refuse it, the XXI is a Moon left in the talon, and the rules score it as lost: you alone score minus 4 Victory Points, and its 4 pips go to the Defenders’ pile. Once you take Group A, the Moon is safe: only the Skus, or the Pagat in an Emperor’s Trick, can ever capture it, and you hold both. Keep the Skus as its cover. The VIII makes an eighth Tarok, and if you capture the whole Trull in your tricks, you score 2 more Victory Points from the bonus table. Discard the Qspades and the Jspades face-down, which puts 4 pips in your pile; the lone Khearts counts as nearly a whole trick. Group B offers 4 pips and a King, Group C offers 5 pips; taking either of them instead loses the Moon. Look for the Moon before you count the pips.
