The fallen Rufer pays the defenders: each writes 1, for the contract. And the announced König Ultimo failed too, the King of Hearts sat out the last trick entirely: that costs P3’s side again, the OTHER side scoring the doubled announced value, +2 more to each defender. Total: each defender writes 3 Victory Points this hand, and P3’s side writes nothing at all. Announcing a bonus is a real bet: it pays double when it lands, and it costs double when it does not.
