Three-player variant of Bauernschnapsen / Schnapsen. Soloist (caller / Rufer) plays against the other two players in temporary alliance. 20-card Schnapsen pack. Each player is dealt 6 cards (3 + 2 talon + 3, or 6 directly after knock); a 2-card talon is reserved. Caller chooses trump from their first 3 cards (or Aufschlagen). Bidding produces a contract; the declarer may exchange with the talon (or play 'without talon' for +1 point). Contracts: normal Rufer, Bettler/Fechter (4), Schnapser/Drei-Stich (6), Plauderer (7-8), Gang (9), Zehnergang (10), Bauernloch (12), Bauernschnapser (12), Kontraschnapser (12), Farbringerl (18), Kontrabauernschnapser (24), Herrenschnapser (24). First player to 24 game points wins (or 24→0 countdown).

Contracts

  • Rufer (normal game)Caller-only. 1-3 game points based on opponents' card_points (≥33=1; 1-32=2; 0 tricks=3). Marriages allowed. Last-trick rule: winner of last trick takes 1 game point if nobody claims 66 first.
  • Bettler (Fechter)Any player. No trumps. Declarer wins by taking ZERO tricks. Stichzwang ON (forces declarer to head if able — which is the punishment). Talon untouched (or per regional rule, talon not used for negative contracts). 4 game points.
  • Schnapser (Drei-Stich)Caller-only. Trump = caller's choice. Declarer must win the first 4 tricks AND reach ≥66 card_points; OR win first 3 tricks with a 20er; OR first 2 tricks with a 40er. 6 game points. Defenders win immediately if they take any of the required-first-tricks.
  • PlaudererAs Bettler but the 2 defenders may see declarer's cards after the first trick. Often not permitted; 7 (or 8) game points where allowed.
  • Gang (Gangl / Ring / Land)Any player. No trumps. Declarer wins all 6 tricks. 9 game points.
  • ZehnergangAny player. No trumps. Ace LOW (rank: 10-K-Q-J-A). All 6 tricks. 10 game points. Regional / not in some circles.
  • BauernlochCaller-only. Trump in play (Bauernschnapser-style) BUT ace is low (Zehnergang-style). All 6 tricks. 12 game points.
  • BauernschnapserCaller-only. Trump = caller's choice. Declarer wins all 6 tricks. 12 game points.
  • Kontraschnapser (Kontra-Drei-Stich)Non-caller. Trump = caller's choice. Caller starts. Per Wikipedia Dreierschnapsen, success cascade is: (a) win 66 card_points in the first 3 tricks (plain), OR (b) win exactly 1 trick and declare a Vierziger (40er) to reach 66, OR (c) win exactly 2 tricks and declare a Zwanziger (20er) to reach 66. 12 game points.
  • Farbringerl (Farbenjodler / Herrenringerl)Any player. No trumps. Declarer must hold all 5 cards of one suit in original hand (talon not used). 18 game points. Earnt even without winning all 6 tricks — declarer wins by holding-condition; sixth card is free.
  • KontrabauernschnapserNon-caller. Trump = caller's choice. Caller leads. Declarer wins all 6 tricks. 24 game points — ends the game.
  • Herrenschnapser (Trumpfringerl / Herrenjodler)Caller-only. Caller must hold all 5 trump-suit cards in original hand (talon not used). 24 game points.
